The Carolina Onsite Water Recycling Association, Inc. (COWRA) was founded in 1999 as the Carolina regional affiliate ofthe National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association, Inc. (NOWRA).
COWRA's focus is on advancing and promoting the onsite water recycling industry
including the manufacturer, designer, installer, operator, manager and owner; promote
documentation, inspection and management of onsite and decentralized water recycling
systems for residences, commercial and industrial users.
COWRA supports a number of organizations throughout North and South Carolina
including NC State University, Department of Soil Science, www.soil.ncsu.edu/training.
NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Onsite Wastewater Division,
www.enr.state.nc.us/osww. licensed engineers, licensed soil scientists, certified installers,
licensed operators and other industry professionals.
COWRA is working to provide effective communication and educational opportunities for these professionals. COWRA encourages and follows important legislation that will contribute to the advancement of the onsite industty. COWRA is dedicated to serving and helping the general public to better understand the value of onsite water recycling.
